Every bride wants to look beautiful and be the center of attraction on her D-day. It goes without saying that she takes a lot of effort with her attire, accessories, hairdo, and makeup. However, this is not just a day’s affair. A bride needs to prepare months ahead. Indian weddings have lots of rituals and ceremonies, and the bride needs to look ravishing for every single event. This can only happen if she takes proper care and plans quite early.
Pre-wedding beauty care – The arrangements for a wedding can bring in a lot of tension, especially for a bride. There is so much planning that goes into the whole event. It is also quite an emotional turn for a girl. She is pretty much entering a new phase in her life. Life, as she knew with her parents, would be changing forever. With so much to think about, it is important that a bride stays calm and not stress out. Unnecessary stress can cause your skin to break out. It can even show negative effects on your hair. So the first thing a bride needs to remember is to take it calmly and not get tensed.
Then come to her beauty rituals! A month before, the bride needs to take up a beauty routine that suits her skin and stick to it religiously. If a regime suits you, do not make any drastic changes to it, or else it could affect you adversely. If possible, and if the budget allows, you can pamper yourself with some spa/beauty treatments. Again do not keep anything scheduled for the last few days before the wedding. It is best to avoid any kind of treatment or change just before the D-day. Your beauty regime must definitely include proper cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing, and protection from Sun. It is mostly suggested that you go for natural products. Mothers and grandmas are the best sources for such products. Besides, our Indian kitchen cupboards are generally well stocked with most natural products that you might need. This being said, you can also go in for commercial products, and cosmetics provided your skin accepts them. If required, you can always schedule a dermatological visit and ensure that you are going the right way.
Body and weight – Some brides make the mistake of going on crash diets expecting to look slim and thin on their special day. This is a huge mistake! Crash diets can lead to weakness and eventually, skin problems. For your skin and hair to look healthy and glowing, a bride needs to eat healthily. She can go in for a diet with fewer carbs but something which is rich in minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants. Lots of fresh vegetables and fruits are the best. One also needs to take care of their sugar intake. Too much sugar can be bad for skin and hair. Also, one must never forget to hydrate well. Good hydration is also an important part of keeping healthy skin.
Makeup and attire – Most of them hire a bridal makeup artist to handle their needs for their D-day. But it is always best to do a little research and have an idea of what you might want and look like. So before you select your artist, do a little homework about him/her and ensure that they are well-reputed and will suit your budget and needs. A bride also needs to have trial sessions at least a few weeks before the wedding. It is best to get this done as soon as the bridal attire is ready. That way, they can ensure that the whole look – attire, and makeup go together. The cut and color of the attire go a long way in choosing the kind of makeup style that would go well too.
Dental treatments – Many brides these days are also opting for dental treatments so that their smile is enhanced. Think about it; a bride would be the center of attraction, and it is her smile that would be visible in most photographs. Hence, her smile needs to be perfect. So in case, you have some corrections to be done or just some whitening, it is best to consult a cosmetic dentist who can guide you further. Again, this needs to be done months before the wedding and should not be left for last-minute jobs.
Hands and Feet – Just like we take care of our face and hair, one needs to also give importance to their hands and feet. That means proper manicures and pedicures! A proper diet and hydration itself lead to good nail health. Moisturize your hands and feet well before you retire every night. Soft, supple skin and pretty nails itself counts towards your complete grooming. It would also bring out your henna applications beautifully.
A bride also needs to be well versed with self makeup so that they can manage in case their bridal makeup runs or they need any last-minute changes. This skill also helps them after the wedding when they have numerous parties or other ceremonies to attend.
